CEBU CITY -- Three suspected drug pushers were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations Sunday afternoon in Sitio Magtalisay, Barangay Balud, San Fernando, Cebu.
Cebu Provincial Police Office identified the suspects as Allan Lawas, 42; Jesus Tangarorang, 29; and Oliver Malaza, 42.
The Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) of San Fernando, with the coordination of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7), carried out the first the operation against Lawas, reported as a newly-identified drug personality in San Fernando.
Arresting police officers, headed by Senior Inspector Adrian Nalua, recovered four small packs of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.”
A follow-up operation was then conducted on Tangarorang and Malaza, who yielded two sachets containing suspected “shabu”.
San Fernando Police is not letting up in their anti-drug drive as the town was previously under the control of self-confessed drug lord Franz Sabalones, whose underlings are believed to be still operating in the area.
The arrested suspects are temporarily detained at the San Fernando Police Station pending the filing of cases against them in court. (With reports by USJR intern Levirose Caballero)
