MANILA, Philippines - San Miguel Corp., DMCI Holdings Inc., and Megawide Construction Corp. are expected to slug it out for the construction and maintenance of a regional prison facilities worth P50.2 billion in Nueva Ecija.
The PPP Center announced the three groups submitted prequalification documents for the proposed modern regional prison facilities which would be located in a 500-hectare portion of Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.
Bidders are SMC’s San Miguel Holdings Corp., the parent firm of construction giant DM Consunji Inc., and the Mega Structure consortium composed of Megawide, Citicore Megawide Consortium Inc., and GMR Infrastructure Singapore Private Ltd.
Tentative schedule for the submission of bids by qualified bidders is on Aug. 14 and the signing of the concession agreement is in September.
About P30.7 billion of the total cost would go to civil works and building; P9.9 billion for financing costs during construction; P5.1 billion for permits, issuance and warranties; and P4.5 billion for equipment and other construction costs. However, the cost of the six to eight-kilometer access road is not included.
