The Senate is set to commend two young computer wizards for bringing honor to the Philippines at an international computer competition.

Senate minority leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. filed on Wednesday Senate Resolution 1320 seeking to commend Anthony Sy and Reynaldo Luz of Fountain International School in Santolan, San Juan City for winning bronze medals and certificate of recognition during the recent International Computer Project Olympiad.

The Computer Olympiad, which was held last May 9-11 in Ankara, Turkey, was organized by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Atlantik Educational Institutions.

In the pre-selection phase of the contest, twenty-one finalists qualified for the final exhibit and competition.

The team from the FIS, which represented the Philippines, qualified for the finals with its entry for the “Web Site of Educator” category entitled “One Manila, One Dream.”

Sy, a fourth year student, and Luz, a first year student, created the Philippine entry which won the third place.

”These young achievers and their school deserves acclamation for bringing honor to our country through their determination and proficiency,” Pimentel said. (PNA)
