CEBU CITY -- Seven suspected drug pushers and six users were rounded up Monday in a series of operations in Danao City, 48.7 kilometers north of this city.
Danao City Police seized from the suspects 53 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” worth more or less PHP15,000.
The suspected drug peddlers were identified as John Peter Almerez, Jeremy Mata, Ricky Miro, Efren Enero, Randy Collantes, Roel Collantes, and July Bughaw.
They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, along with suspected drug users Kim Angelo Lochavez, Felix Calvo, Ardie Fabroa, Filomeno Giandam, Ronald Lipao-Lipao, and Marjun Dolero.
Operatives led by Danao City Police chief Gerard Ace Pelare arrested the suspects olong Taboc Loboc, Ralota, Duterte, Suba, and Juan Luna streets, all in Barangay Poblacion of said city.
Meanwhile, a resident of Pamplona, Negros Oriental, is now detained at the Cebu City Police Station 11 after he was caught in possession of illegal drugs.
Rommel Jayme, 32, was arrested by roving policemen led by PO3 Jonathan Basiller in Barangay Duljo-Fatima where he bought the two packs of “shabu” recovered from him. (with reports from Michelle Bugtai/PNA)
