Malacañang has allocated more than P1.6 billion for programs that would lead to the Supreme Court-mandated cleanup of Manila Bay, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) reported to the high tribunal last week.
In a compliance report, Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr. told the high court that the fund allocation was part of next year’s proposed national budget for the cleanup, restoration and preservation of the bay’s water quality.
