my understanding though is that this appeals to men, who believe that this is one of the best war scenes that was ever produced on film. ("apocalypse now" was shot in the philippines, right? i remember faintly how much was made of actress elizabeth oropesa being taken for a role in the film. i remember too that it was only a scene of a minute or less, which was edited out anyway in the final release.) well, because i'm not a he, i appreciate only the zoomed out helicopter scenes in hubag's post and the effect of wagner's "the ride of the valkyries". morag tb kite festival ang layout, hehe.

Though Wagner conceived The Ride for what is decidedly a less dramatic moment in warfare (when heroes slain in battle are transported to Valhalla), popular culture associates it with wanton destruction and the cruelty of war. Well, Hitler's Panzer Battalions reportedly played it as they rode into battle...

and give us 'autumn' of antonio vivaldi's 'four seasons' as a message of cheer to tb members who are facing autumn now. best version: st. mark orchestra (san marco orchestra of venice, circa 1965. other versions lack the punch). i left my cd of this in pinas. besides, i don't know how to upload music to tb from a cd. and a youtube upload has pictures to boot, which i'm just beginning to enjoy. c'mon, hubag. be kind. for a change; we've had all those handsome frogs and bats and what else from you, including your winning kites, so give us a vivaldi too.

nagsugod na man lang gyod kag thread with classical music, then let's make this a thread for classical music.

here's something. some standard/pop songs were made out of some known classics. these songs were 'incised' out of classical pieces. gamay ra nga part sa whole piece, but they come out as complete songs that are more accessible. gihimoan pa gyod ug lyrics. at your leisure and pleasure, kindly post these songs, together with the classical pieces from which they were taken. examples:

all by myself (nalibog na ko kun kang tchaikovsky ba ni o kang rachmaninoff)
right to love again
here comes the bride
i'm always chasing rainbows

and many more. roll the ball!

I'm Always Chasing Rainbows is a popular song. The music is credited to Harry Carroll although the melody is actually adapted from Fantaisie-Impromptu by FrÃ©dÃ©ric Chopin. The lyrics were written by Joseph McCarthy and the song was published in 1917 and introduced in the Broadway show Oh, Look! which opened in March, 1918. The song was sung in the show by The Dolly Sisters and was subsequently featured in a movie entitled The Dolly Sisters, released in September, 1945, where it was sung by John Payne.
