« on: April 14, 2010, 11:17:48 AM »
Here is the debt from 2000 to 2008:

Year          Amount in Million Pesos
2000          2,166,710
2001          2,384,917
2002          2,815,468
2003          3,355,108
2004          3,811,954
2005          3,888,231
2006          3,851,506
2007          3,712,487
2008          4,220,903

Source: Bureau of Treasury

The outstanding government debt has doubled from Y200 to Y2008 in a span of 8 years yet our government officials are spending money as if our country have excess money in the bank.

I believe all candidates for this election should be aware of this figure for them to realize how our country stand financially.
