im back! been very busy for the past days..wako nhadlok oi,in fact grateful kaau ko inyo advices,the moment i log in mao jud daun ako gbasa..well,ang uban binuang ang tubag, i cant blame u if e judge ko ninyo..as ive said if puede lang macontrol nko knsa ako higugmaon,things happens in ur life that is very unexpected and beyond ur control..but then becoz m trying to be mature and becoz of ur advices no matter how painful i started na to stay away from him..well,i cant really end everything in just one night, guess i have to do it slowly pra dli au sakit..u guys have no idea how much i tried to forget him..hopefully time will come i will totally forget him and find a right guy

To the original poster, you may have feelings for this man, and this priest may have feelings for you as well. But it is wrong to do this while he is still in office as a Priest of God. There is a holiness in that position, to be able to administer the Holy Eucharist, which is the Real Presence. The Body and the Blood of the Lord. If your priest friend wants to be with you and you with him, then ask him to leave the priesthood. To partake in romantic relations with you while he still serves as a Priest is wrong. Please, I beg you, do not tempt him, have some sense of reverence for their position and their duties. Remember my dear, that a priest is already married; he is married and belongs to CHRIST

However, if you really love him, and he has some kind of hesitance, then please know that priests , like all of us humans are tempted to sin. But especially priests. The devil and his demons would like nothing more than to tempt and to affect the thoughts and actions of these holy men, the priests.

If you really love him and honestly care for him, perhaps, the greatest act of love would be to let him go. And pray for him. Love does not necessarily mean it has to be consummated with sexual intercourse. Some of the greatest form of love is sacrifice; just like how The Lord Jesus Christ best showed us His Love by dying on the cross for all of us, so that all our sins would be forgiven. By dying for us, he carried our own sins, so that we might Live. If you really love him with pure love, and know that he is hesitant, let him go.

This is just my view lang. Dont take it personal, but understand the reasoning behind.

OT: a priest friend of mine almost didn't make it to ordination. for the love of a woman, what else. he was on training for clinical pastoral psychology at the u.s. at that time. he wrote to his mother about his change of plans. he happens to have a down-to-earth mother with a temper to boot. she answered with a one-page letter, containing only these two words repeated many, many times over: 'peste ka!' da, lahos ang ordinasyon ni ondo. until now, he's a very good priest.

nganong iphon man ang nigawas sa pagkapari nga mas daghan man ang nagpabilin? the constancy referred to is the vocation, not the person who may or may not become a priest, nor a priest who may or may not remain as one in form though not in substance. ("You are a priest forever." - Hebrews 7:17.)

As for her passion, who are you to say?

yes, it is not for me to say about the passion of this thread's poster; it is for me to glean that passion from her posts.

being a female myself, i would be too remiss if i didn't make some conclusions (not immutable ones, i must stress) even from the fact alone that she was compelled to start this thread and pour her heart out with such acute despair.

it is a very holy calling, and a divine vocation. many men are called to the priesthood, but only a select few are able to answer it.
i myself, was one who applied to the seminary and was undergoing spiritual encouragement by my parish priest (who is also my friend) at the time. however, with the weakness of my body and knowing myself, i hesitated in finishing all the additional application material to the seminary. i was not qualified , from knowing myself and my own propensity to sin. many of my good friends are now in their major seminary years, one of them, a very good friend named JR, is finishing his last year. He will be ordained next year -- and i will be attending his ordination mass.

I always talk to him, we keep in contact through emails and texting or calling each other. We support each other through our trials and our difficulties. I pray for him throughout his studies and mentally support him (as he really needs it!) as he does for me. He always text messages me from time to time and says things like, "Hi Doctor! Keep it up, and Keep studying!"

Small things like that, which really add up in the long run.

This is why I implore the OP and all the rest that may read this, to consider the vocation of these holy men. The spirit may be strong, but the flesh is weak. So be considerate of them, lang.
