Raquel,you do truly bring up a good point,.. pero sigoro na entrenched ang uban mga lalake that virginity represents purity. One has to also take into consideration the conservative society that is in the Philippines and compare it to the more liberated society that is in say, the United States and in Europe. One also has to take that into consideration and apply how society's view in regards to feminine purity and how that is substantiated / ingrained in the psyche of men in that particular society and ultimately reflects in the preference for the virgin as compared to the de-virginized female cohort.
There are many aspects one has to consider when we address this/ study this: we need to delve into the sociology of the particular society, the psychophysiology of inherent male preference for virgin females as compared to de-virginized females, the role of religion in said processes etc.
