Loon's newly-launched one-stop shop licensing system has drawn praise from local businessmen and store owners as it shrunk the days of processing for annual renewal or applications for business permits and licenses into hours.
This development is a far cry from previous years when processing time for tax documents would run from one to two days as taxpayers would have to go from one place to another to get signatures of authorities.
This time, it can be done in one venue.
Loon Mayor Lloyd Lopez, in his seventh month of service, pushed for the creation of the one-stop shop licensing system to eliminate red tape and save time, effort and money on the part of the taxpayers.
For its implementation, five personnel from the Municipal Accounting Department and Treasurer's Office composed of Municipal Accountant Arnulfo Relampagos, Sinforiana Yamas, Mary Jane Arocha, Charlene Peña and Jerome Orcullo attended a seminar-workshop on Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (e-BPLS) on June 5-8, last year in Cebu City.
Municipal Treasurer Teopista Marilla, together with Audit Analyst Teodomiro Coritico of the accounting department and License Inspector Socrates Lafuente, took a crash course on the system for three days in Tagbilaran City on October 16-19, last year.
Located at the lobby entrance of the main Municipal Hall Building, the new one-stop shop licensing system venue gives easy access and convenience to taxpayers with ten basic steps to follow.
