Loonanons in the Spiritual Vocation
(Incomplete record.  Everyone is encouraged to submit names of those who are worthy of mention in this list.)

A.  Priests

Msgr. Juan de Dios M. Pueblos - former rector of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary; nominated and appointed on April 29, 1985 by His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, as Auxiliary Bishop of Davao and Titular Bishop of Zaba in Numidia; currently Bishop of Butuan; one of the Ten Tubig-Loon awardees recognized during the first global homecoming of Loonanons (PaghiuSadya 2005).

Rev. Dr. Aloysius L. Cartagenas -  ordained priest on April 26,1985 at the age of 24; former rector of the Seminario Mayor de San Carlos, the first Diocesan priest to assume such position after 135 years of the seminary under the Vincentian priests.  Earlier, from 1990 to 1996, he took his masteral and doctoral studies, focusing on the Church’s social teachings, at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium.  In July 2002, he was given an award by the Foundation for the Advancement of Church Research and the Theology Department of the University. 

Rev. Dr. Jonas M. Mejares, OSA - doctor of canon law and former vice president for research and planning & development of the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City.

Linuel Cañizares - taga balilihan jud ni si fr. linuel. anak ni nong sano ug anhing azon calope.
Orlando Mendez - close friend sa akong family. used to be assigned in balilihan.
Fernando Po - former parish priest sa balilihan. tag-iya sa saya's restaurant.
Robert S. Roa - migo ni nako si fr. rorox. na assign ni sa hanopol sa una.
Blair Lope M. Sabaricos - taga balilihan pero anak ug taga loon si nong tirso ug anhing vita maniwang.

fr. castil (+) - mao ni nagbunyag nako sa una didto sa sagbayan dungan sa akong ig-agaw. nakaserve sad ko ani niya as knights of the altar sa balilihan.
ramon mendaña, jr. - sad to say, he's out as priest since he opted to marry.

Yes, resident ni siya sa Balilihan tungod kay didto nag-settle ang family sa iyang amahan, who is a native of Barangay Canmaag in Loon. Taga Loon ang mga Cañizares.

Yes, resident ni siya sa Balilihan tungod kay didto nag-settle ang family sa iyang amahan, who is a native of Barangay Canmaag in Loon. Taga Loon ang mga Cañizares.
