Larianne Kristine Corciega Betancor of Barangay Moto Norte in Loon town topped all examinees from the Visayas and Mindanao in the recent Philippine CPA Licensure Examination that was held in Manila and selected regional offices of the Philippine Regulation Commission on May 10, 11, 17 and 18, 2009.
The results were released in one day after the last day of examination.
Betancor, who graduated from Cebu’s Colegio de San Jose Recoletos, placed fifth among the 1,231 who passed the accountancy board out of 4,262 who took the exam in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi.
The names of the topnotchers and their respective scores are as follows:

Betancor graduated valedictorian from Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) in her hometown. Another valedictorian of the same school, Romualdo Murcia from Cabilao Island, also in Loon, was number one in the same board exam in 1997, surprising all other topnotch Accountancy schools in the country including his alma mater, Holy Name University, then Divine Word College in Tagbilaran City, which at that time was celebrating her golden anniversary.
