The police investigators here are still facing a blank wall as to who were the perpetrators of the kidnap try of a teenager that took place here last week in this northern municipality, said P02 Jake Catane in an interview yesterday.
An eight-year old kid eluded kidnapping try from his four masked abductors on board of white van along the highway of barangay Moto Sur, of this town.
In an interview with Contact Point over DyRD, P02 Anselmo Mesiona of Loon police station said that while the kid (name withheld) was on his way to Moto Sur Elementary School along the national highway at about 12:30 high noon, a van all of a sudden stopped and two unidentified masked men tried to snatched the kid to the waiting white van. The bonnet-wearing men failed.
It was not clear how the kid eluded the snatching attempt when the two men tried to grab the would-be victim The kid wasted no time and ran for his life.
The kid told police that before he could ran away he saw two female kids who were hogtied and their mouth zipped up inside the van.
Police are still probing the incident and reported it to police main office at Camp Dagohoy in this city. No report yet of the license plate number of the van and identity of the van owner.
Catane said that they already alerted the neighboring towns immediately after the incident. He added that the PNP of this town have checked every public school if there are children reported missing. But there was none.
The police here was wondering why the incident was not immediately reported to them until five hours later.
The Chronicle has withheld the identities of the kid and his father who is an official of the said barangay. (RVO)
