Top Negrense leaders push for ‘culture of excellence,’ more achievements in 2017

BACOLOD CITY, Jan. 3 (PNA) -– top officials of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City called on their respective local government employees Tuesday to deliver a better performance for the public that they serve this 2017.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia of this city said he wants Bacolod to have the kind of growth and development that is inclusive.

He added that he also wants to see Bacolod become a premier city, not only in the country, but also in Southeast Asia.

“We hope to create a culture of excellence among our people, particularly, among others, with our academe, labor force, professionals, and government workers,” Leonardia said.

Moreover, the Bacolod mayor said he wishes to “see that business confidence is restored” in the city.

“(I also) wish that a climate conducive for business and industry to grow and prosper is established,” he added.

For his part, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredoo Marañon Jr. urged the Capitol employees to work harder to make the province more progressive in 2017.

Speaking at the flag-raising rising rites held at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center, Marañon thanked the employees as well for their “collective efforts that contributed to the betterment of the province.”

“Life is short but with all our prayers, we can achieve more,” he added.

Marañon also noted that Negros Occidental is one of the most progressive provinces in the country and more investors are still coming in.(PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
