Sympathy Statement of the people of Kidapawan City
In behalf of the people of the City of Kidapawan, we would like to express our deep sorrow on the sudden demise of the water tanker helper who offered his own life for the service to the victims of the earthquakes in the town of Makilala and Kidapawan City as well.
Aside from giving his own life, the victim JUBERT CABRERA, 16 years old, Grade-11 student of Nikkei Jin Kai Senior High School in Davao City and a resident of Barangay Mahan-ug, Cateel, Davao Oriental, also saved lives of many commuters.
Sensing danger following the break malfunction of the water tanker carrying 7 tons of potable drinking water, Cabrera bravely shouted to the incoming vehicles on the opposite lane to maneuver at the shouldering to avoid collision with their vehicle.
Had he did not given the signal to the incoming vehicles, there could be multiple injuries and deaths as well.
We also pray for the fast recovery of the driver JIMMY CABEN, who sustained multiple physical injuries and now being given medical attention in the hospital. May the healing power of the Almighty Father bestow upon him.
In these difficult times, we Kidapawenos are with you and your family. We pray from the bottom of our hearts that the Almighty will grant your families peace and strength in facing these difficult times.
Accept the condolences and sympathy of the people of Kidapawan.
(SGD) Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista
