Solon allots Php 12 M for health services, financial aid
SAN JOSE de BUENAVISTA, Antique, Dec. 16 (PNA) - Antique’s solon Paolo Everardo S. Javier disclosed to local media on a brief press conference held at Barangay Odiong, Sibalom, Friday night that his office had allotted Php 9 million for the continuity of his Medical Assistance Program for the indigent Antiquenos.
The amount was to be divided among two hospitals in the city of Iloilo, namely Western Visayas Hospital and Don Benito Hospital and the remaining Php 5 million will be downloaded to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office on February next year.
Javier also allotted another Php 3 million for non-Philhealth members for them to avail the universal health program.
He also said that he was willing to assist the more than 600 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in their clamor to appeal for the increase of their honorarium.
It was reported that during the 2016 BNS Summit held at the EBJ Memorial Gymnasium last Dec. 15, the National Nutrition Council Deputy Executive Director Dr. Azucena Dayanghirang urged the participants to gather signatures from concerned citizens and have this petition submitted to the office of the congressman for him to push for the honorarium increase.
â€I understand that it is to be deliberated in the Lower House and if ever there is a request for me to sponsor or to push for it, then I am more than willing to do it,†said Javier.
The young solon and son of former Antique governor Exequiel B. Javier had prioritized health, education, livelihood and infrastructure as his flagship programs for his last term as Antique’s representative. (PNA)
