An international medical assistance organization has donated hospital equipment and medical supplies to the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC), formerly Ospital Ning Angeles (ONA).
City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said the equipment unloaded from a 40-foot container van include nine dialysis machines, which are part of the donations from the United States-based World Medical Relief Inc. (WMRI).
The hospital equipment were shipped from Michigan, USA to the Philippines through the help of the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (FCCC) based in this city.
A shipping fee of P1.5 million was shouldered by the business group.
“We are glad that finally these donations are already here at RLMMC. We can now start replacing some antiquated equipment of our city hospital,†Pamintuan said.
The mayor said the WMRI has been helping the city since 1991 when it was devastated by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption.
