News Release: To ensure the safety of the riding public in marine transportation while guaranteeing their compliance to the COVID-19 health protocols, MARINA Regional Office 8 (MRO
– Maasin Satellite Unit conducted vessel monitoring at the Port of Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte today, 22 March 2021.
A good number of guests and delegates were expected to arrive at the said port and ply to Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte to attend the celebration of the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines.
It was observed that port traffic is generally peaceful and in good order. Only five (5) motorbancas were given special permit to ferry the passengers and only 300 pilgrims were allowed for onboard daily.
