PNP Director Reacts to Assassination Plot
« on: May 04, 2019, 05:57:58 PM »
ILOILO CITY -- Philippine National Police chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde, said the police ‘assassination plot’ against Iloilo District Representative Richard Garin and Mayor Oscar Garin of Guimbal town is “fake news”.

In a press conference on Friday afternoon at Camp Martin Delgado in this city, Albayalde said the PNP, particularly the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) “won’t assassinate or do any harm against them (Garins)”.

This came after there were reports of text messages of the “assassination plot” against the Garins for beating up Corporal Federico Macaya Jr. on December 2018.

“The CIDG won’t assassinate or probably do any harm against them (Garins) because we have not seen any retaliatory action coming from the Garins after the incident. In fact, they were silent,” Albayalde said.

He said the assassination plot is a “fake” as he did not receive validated reports coming from the regional office and even from the province.

He also noted that the Garins personally visited him at his office in Camp Crame to apologize after the incident with Macaya.

“They went to my office and they really were apologetic and we accepted their apology,” he said.

Meanwhile, Police Colonel Benliner Capili, Regional Director of CIDG Region 6, said they are never involved in the rumored ‘assassination plot.’

“I vehemently deny the allegations. Maybe they are just trying to discredit the police,” he said in an interview.

He also advised those who are spreading fake news to stop with what they are doing, especially using the name of the PNP.

“We are just doing our job. We do not know any of it (alleged assassination plot),” he said. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
