Employees who served the City Government of Zamboanga for 25 years were awarded a 14-karat gold service ring on Thursday.
Mayor Celso Lobregat said of the 331 awardees, 283 have reached 25 years in service in 2009 while 48 have reached 25 years this year.
Lobregat, who personally awarded the service rings, also gave a tribute book to all the awardees.
Lobregat said the City Government allocated P5 million for the purchase of the rings, which is worth P16,000 each.
“We are all here to render service and to do what is right,†Lobregat reminded the awardees.
The City Government has more than 2,000 personnel, including regular and casual employees. (Bong Garcia) - Sun Star
