The Philippine Airlines (PAL) expressed optimism on Monday that it would resolve its labor woes with pilots and flight attendants next month.
"Hopefully, we can resolve our labor problems as soon as possible," PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said.
She disclosed that four new pilots will pinch in to fly PAL Airbus A-320 planes by September and four pilots by October.
“They are going to complete their training and fly as A-320 captains, starting next month and in October," she said.
Furthermore, she revealed the management's contingency plans of tapping management pilots and pilots from sister company, budget airline Air Philippines.
"If they push thru with the strike, one of the contingency measures is to use management pilots," she said.
