Teresita Ang See, founding chair of the Movement for Restoration of Peace and Order expressed support to a move of Bureau of Corrections (Bucor) chair Manuel Co to review the classification of inmates.

“I am glad that the Bucor chair is taking a move for the review of the classification of inmates,” Ang See said during her visit here.

Ang See cited the case of high profile inmate Rolito Go, who she thinks should not be entitled to parole but is then frequently seen outside of the National Bilibid prison.

She said that because of the “special treatment” it seems that those who have committed crimes do not also serve their sentence.

“It takes about 9 to 10 years before the sentence could be promulgated,” Ang See said. For those years, the family seeking justice has to spend so much money for the legal process, hoping that finally it could obtain justice but to its dismay would later find out the convicted person was being given special treatment.

She said that given the situation it’s so hard to convince victims to seek justice.
