Kidnapped Filipino-Chinese Businessman in Cotabato
« on: November 17, 2010, 05:16:03 PM »
A kidnapped Filipino-Chinese businessman was released unharmed by his captors on Tuesday night, a police official said Wednesday.

Chief Supt. Bienvenido Latag, director of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao-Police Regional Office (PRO-ARMM), said 75-year-old Rodolfo Chio was freed unhurt by his abductors.

Latag said Chio, owner of Caltex Station in Datu Piang, Maguindanao, was released at around 6 p.m. along General Luna Street in Cotabato City.

It was not clear, however, whether ransom was paid in exchange of Chio’s release.

Chio was snatched by armed men last Sunday at his residence in Poblacion, Datu Piang. - pna
