Charges of robbery with violence and direct assault are being readied against a man, who allegedly stole a motorcycle and hacked a habal-habal driver on Tuesday night.
Talisay City police said the suspect, Alex Ursal, 31, stole a motorcycle after hacking its owner, Voltair Sasutil, 21, in barangay Perellos, Carcar City, Cebu.
Ursal later rode the motorcycle to barangay Tabunok, Talisay City where he tried to rob habal-habal driver Nestor Carlos, 38.
Carlos, a resident of Talisay City, was waiting for passengers under a flyover when the attack occurred.
He tried to fight off Ursal, who retaliated by hacking him in the neck and face.
Bystanders and other habal-habal drivers arrived, forcing Ursal to speed away on the motorcycle.
