Suspected hired killers riding in tandem on a motorcycle struck anew despite the existing election gun ban and shot and killed an engineer-contractor in Barangay Malued here at 8:08 a.m. of Monday.
The fatality was identified as Danny del Rosario, 59, who was shot by unidentified suspects while driving his car, an Isuzu Trooper colored dark green bearing Plate No. BDR-808 while heading north toward his residence.
The suspects approached and shot the victim several times on his body before speeding to a still unknown direction.
The victim was a member of the Dagupan Practical Shooters Association and the Pangasinan Practical Shooters Association.
But because of the election gun ban, he left his firearms home and was not able to defend himself.
Three fired cartridges of Caliber .45 pistol was found by the police at the crime scene.
Police said Del Rosario was still able to drive his vehicle 150 to 200 meters away but due to loss of blood, he got unconscious and his vehicle rammed an electric post.
He was rushed to the Trauma Specialist Group Hospital in Barangay Tapuac but was declared dead on arrival.
Supt. Mariano Luis Verzosa, chief of police of Dagupan, said the way the killing was executed, the killers could be professional guns-for-hire. (PNA)
