The Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) passed a resolution declaring an all-out war against all forms of illegal
numbers games, including swertres.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, council chairperson called for a motion to declare an all-out war against these illegal numbers games.
The region-wide campaign will kick off momentarily following the formal adoption of a united stand from among the provincial governors of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Or. and Siquijor.
Although some skeptics could not imagine for swertres to be gone for good, the regional leaders believe that as long as the local government units in their respective areas will declare a serious campaign against swertres, then, this illegal numbers game will end.
It was mentioned that if the mayors and governors will not declare swertres as clearly illegal and should be stopped, then the campaign will fail.
"It should be the LGUs who will wage this war," Gov. Garcia stressed.
The RPOC-7 members approved the resolution in mass motion, making it the third all-out-war policy next to all-out-campaign against communist insurgents and illegal drugs. - bohol chronicle
