The Department of Energy (DOE) will distribute compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in Isabela province, particularly in the 4th congressional district, on Sept. 29, 2012.
The distribution of CFLs, which is part of the DOE initiatives under the Philippine Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP), is a nationwide activity that is being held in various parts of the country through a memorandum of agreement with congressional district representatives.
The activity aims to lessen the electricity consumption through the use of CFLs instead of the incandescent bulbs.
Reynaldo Braceros, staff of 4th district Rep. Giorgidi B. Aggabao and coordinator in the CFL distribution, said residents of the fourth district who wanted to avail of the free CFLs are advised to visit the congressman’s district office at #8 Carreon Street, Centro East Santiago City. and be listed as beneficiary of the free CFL.
Braceros said during the CFLs distribution, residents are advised to bring with their electric bill to avail the free CFL.
The DOE distributed CFLs last Sept. 21 in Ilocos Sur, Benguet on Sept. 22 and Mountain Province on Sept. 23.
The distribution will be held in Nueva Ecija on Sept. 26 and Zambales on Sept. 27.
The DOE has allotted 10,000 CFLs to be distributed in each district.
DOE will continue to provide CFLs until it meets the targeted households in the country.
