DENR turns over free land patents to 114 beneficiaries in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY, Dec. 19 (PNA) -- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through its Iloilo Provincial ENR Office distributed free land patents to 114 beneficiaries on Monday.

Artemio Colacion, head of the DENR Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO), said that the beneficiaries have complied with requisites necessary to avail of the program. The recipients included 98 from Poblacion East, Oton and 16 for land patent beneficiaries from the municipalities of Tubungan and Barotac Viejo.

The distribution of the land patents, also known as “Handog Titulo” was the highlight of the activity dubbed as “People’s Day” held in the town of Oton.

Colacion said Mayor Carina Flores of Oton assured that more land patents will be released as they are currently working with DENR to identify areas that do not have land titles.

As of today, DENR here already issued 2,922 free residential land patents, higher than the 2,754 target land patents to be issued in Western Visayas this year. Also, the department was able to issue 1,158 free agricultural land patents to its beneficiaries, higher than the 1,025 target.

The Patent, Processing and Issuance (PPI) program of DENR is one of the priority programs of the government, which has been instrumental in alleviating poverty among the rightful claimants.

It also promotes social equity and provided opportunity for beneficiaries to benefit from their lands.

Colacion said that they are hoping to distribute more free land patents in 2017. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
