SAN JOSE, Antique, March 5 (PNA) - Police operatives in Antique province nabbed recently a barangay tanod suspected to be drug pusher in buy bust operation in Brgy. Jalandoni, Culasi town.
The suspect, identified as Edward N. Clataro, 38, was collared at his residence, also in the said barangay, after a poseur-buyer was able to buy one sachet of suspected shabu.
The joint operation was conducted by the Antique Police Provincial Office Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Group (PAIDSOG), Culasi Police Station, Provincial Public Safety Company and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 6.
The operating team also recovered another eight sachets of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P1,000 each, marked money, improvised water pipe tooter, and one empty pack plastic sachet from the suspect.
According to PAIDSOG, Clataro is a long-time drug personality operating in the northern towns of Antique.
Senior Supt. Ruperto T. Floro Jr., police director of Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO), said the arrest of Clataro will mean reduction of supply and drug use in the town.
"The 'Pulis Nyo Po' in Antique will continually intensify its operations against proliferation of illegal drugs,†Floro said.
He added, “For those who still engage in illegal drug trade and use, stop and change your lifestyle, if not, the Pulis Nyo Po in Antique will not stop running after you and put an end to the drug menace.â€
