Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan led on Monday the opening of another section of the Baguio public market to accommodate the increased number of visitors brought about by the ongoing Flower Festival and other events here.
On normal days, an average of 5,000 people go to the public market.
These days, however, the number has manifestly doubled as shown by the overflowing of vendors around the area.
In a span of one year, the city government has already restored the souvenir and fruit section which was gutted by fire last year as well as another block within the area for vegetables and marine products.
The main edifice for the market is yet to be constructed.
As envisioned, the proposed building will have modern architectural design and facilities. = pna
