All private vehicles coming here during the holidays are exempted until Jan. 7, 2011 from the city ordinance of reducing the number of motor vehicles entering the central business district (CBD).
City mayor Mauricio Domogan said this was the intent of his latest administrative order, which extended the suspension of the ordinance known as the "number coding scheme" more than two weeks ago.
He said he noticed the sustained number of tourists coming here for the holidays even when the many foreigners who saw action in the Fil-Am international amateur golf tournament had ended during the weekend.
Records show that the city and the whole Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are expected to achieve their more than two million visitors this year.
Despite of the setback of the first snow show as part of the Christmas activities, many visitors are still excited to witness the other programs, which include those intended for the homecoming Filipinos, ballroom dancing, concerts and out-of-town editions of popular television shows. - pna
