(PNA)--Philippine Army troops are continuously pursuing two groups of gunmen aimed to rescue four people to include a businessman in Iligan and Lanao del Nort areas, a military official said on Monday.
Capt. Arnold Gaslatan, information officer of the Army's first Infantry Division, identified the captives as Hadji Usop Lidangan, Kahanudin Alompo, Manalo Buanding, and Latipa Baunto.
Gaslatan said that Lidangan, 60, was abducted by three gunmen around 9 p.m. Saturday in Barangay Agawi, Iligan City.
Gaslatan said Lidangan, who is into the business of buy-and-sell copra, was abducted by three gunmen from his residence in Barangay Agawi.
He said that Alompo, Buanding and Baunto were abducted by a group of gunmen together with two others around 7 p.m. last Wednesday in Poblacion Tangkal, Lanao del Norte.
He said the other two victims, identified as Aliodin Rasman and Kaharo Pascual, were found dead several minutes after they were abducted by the group of gunmen led by Akmad Makadaya.
He said the motive of the abduction was “rido†or family fued.
Gaslatan did not reveal where the victims were taken by the abductors, except in saying the troops were continuously tracking down the suspects as well as the captives. (PNA)
