Five CTG Members Yield To PRO 8
Press Release - Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte - Five members of the Communist Terrorist Group yielded to the authorities of Police Regional Office and were presented to PBGEN RONALDO F DE JESUS, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 8 on March 12, 2021.
The surrenderees were identified as @Jack, 40, a Vice Squad Leader of EMPORIUM-SDG; @Yan/Jen, 45, a medical staff and became a political guide; @Jason/Lawaan, 33, a member of EMPORIUM-SDG and became a combatant and Team Leader of the squad; @Kutsoy/Jude/Kelvin Tiongzon, 37, member of Regional Prop. Bureau; and @Flower, 60, a member of Militia ng Bayan-Teritoryo under EMPORIUM and a collector of food and other personal necessities for the group and became a full time combatant. Along with their surrender, they turned-in one (1) shotgun, two (2) Cal. 45 pistol, two (2) Cal. 38 pistol, two (2) magazines for cal. 45, two (2) rounds of live ammunition for Cal. 45 and six (6) rounds live ammunition for Cal. 38.
Through the efforts on the community engagements and information operations of the 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company led by PLTCOL DEMOSTHENES P MAGNAAN, Force Commander, these former rebels were talked to and encouraged to surrender, thus, convinced them to return back to the fold of the government
PBGEN RONALDO F DE JESUS confirmed that all the surrenderees were facilitated by the implementation of Executive No.70 through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and in consonance to the program thrust of PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, CPNP to intensify security operations and community support program.
“The soaring number of surrenders are the fruit of the sustained efforts of the PNP to actively support the AFP in the suppression of insurgency and other serious threats to national security. We are expecting more rebels to abandon their armed struggle and live meaningful lives with their families,” RD DE JESUS said.
Personnel of 2nd LPMFC are processing their documents for the availment of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
