The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finally turned over the kalabasa awardee unfinished Loboc jumbo bridge to the Municipal Government of Loboc.
Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado said DPWH Region 7 Director Josefino Rigor and Loboc Mayor Leon Calipusan signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) turning over the bridge to the municipality in the meantime that the department is still in the process of finding a solution to the technical problems concerning its construction.
Calipusan had authority from the Loboc Municipal Council to sign the MOA through Resolution No. 117 Series of 2005 while Rigor's authority came from DPWH Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. dated January 8, 2008.
The MOA turns over in a temporary capacity to the municipality the possession, administration, supervision and control of the Loboc Bridge, to be used in activities that will redound to the benefit of the local residents, such as for tourism purposes.
