PICKUP TRUCKS MAS BEBENTA SA PAMILYANG PINOY DAHIL SA ZERO EXCISE TAX

Hindi papapigil ang maraming pamilyang Pilipino na makamit ang ambisyon nilang magmay-ari ng sariling sasakyan, ayon kay Leyte Representative Henry Ong, lalo na ngayong malakas ang merkado para sa mga bagong kotse at zero ang excise tax sa mga pickup truck at electric vehicles.

“Purchasing a motor vehicle for family use or for small business has become a necessity for many Filipinos,” pansin ni Ong.

Ayon sa long term development plan ng Duterte administration na tinaguriang Ambisyon Nation 2040, ang pagmamay-ari ng sariling kotse ay isa sa mga pangarap ng maraming pamilyang Pilipino.

Malakas ang car sales noong 2017 dahil double-digit percent increase ang naranasan ng mga motor vehicle importers at dealers.

“According to the Association of Vehicle Importers, their 2017 sales was at 106,268 units in 2017, which is an increase of 14 percent compared to 3,192 units sold in 2016,” ani Ong.

Naiulat naman ng Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) na ang sales nila sa 2017 ay 425,673 units, na mas mataas nang 18.4 percent kumpara sa 2016 sales.

“Makatutulong sa mga pamilyang Pilipino na pag-aralan nila ang BIR Revenue Regulations tungkol sa new excise tax rates sa automobiles,” payo ni Ong.

Ipinatutupad ng bagong BIR regulations ang TRAIN Law provisions sa excise taxes at ad valorem taxes sa mga automobile.

“As a family man, businessman, and as Member of the House Committee on Transportation, I advise families now thinking of purchasing new motor vehicles, to take advantage of the TRAIN Law exemption for electric vehicles and pickup trucks and the 50 percent on applicable excise tax rates for hybrid vehicles,” suhestiyon ni Rep. Ong.

“Congress deliberately lowered the excise tax rates to zero on electric vehicles and pickup trucks and lowered to 50% the excise tax rates on hybrid vehicles to help Filipino families with small businesses and to encourage citizens to care for the environment. Pickup trucks are especially versatile because they can double as family vehicles and utility units,” ayon sa mambabatas.
