Ombudsman launches integrity development contest
04 October 2013, Ombudsman Press Release

The Office of the Ombudsman launches today the Integrity Development Contest (IDC) consisting of essay-writing, poster-making, and short video production competitions open to elementary, high school and college students, respectively.

Centered on themes dealing with the fundamentals of good governance and anti-corruption, the IDC shall grant cash prizes to the winners, including a scholarship grant in filmmaking to the top three finalists in the short video production contest.

In ceremonies at the SM Annex Activity Center, SM North EDSA in Quezon City, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales stated that “the youth must be initiated to the fundamentals of civic duty and good governance at the earliest possible opportunity.”

“By translating big words like ‘integrity,’  ‘transparency’ and ‘accountability’ into plain and simple words like being ‘honest,’ ‘open,’ ‘upright’ and ‘answerable to one’s actions,’ the concept of good governance is as easy to grasp as A-B-C,” she remarked.

Aside from Ombudsman officials, top executives from corporate, institutional and development partners like the United Nations Development Programme, Asian Development Bank, SM Prime Holdings, Jollibee Foods Corporation, and UP Film Institute attended the launching.

The IDC is one of the activities under the yearlong Ombudsman Integrity Caravan on the occasion of the Office’s silver anniversary in May this year.

For details and contest mechanics, the public may visit the Ombudsman website (www.ombudsman.gov.ph) or check published posters in various locations of partner institutions and sponsoring establishments.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
