There are many of those armchair commanders who have, without danger to themselves in the comfort and security of their air-conditioned offices, seen young soldiers marching to their death while they themselves reaped unearned glory for battles supposedly won and outlaws reportedly killed but only in their press releases. Most of these fictitious victories are
trumpeted during the legislative deliberations on the general appropriations bill, obviously to wangle a bigger budget for the AFP.
