September 2013 - Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales today welcomed the delegation from the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam (GIV) headed by Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh during the GIV’s working visit to the country.
The visit was pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Hanoi, Vietnam between the Philippine’s Office of the Ombudsman and the GIV last 11 March 2013 wherein both anti-graft bodies committed to explore collaborative activities in preventing and combating corruption.
In today’s meeting held at the OMB function room, there was exchange of information on asset disclosure processes and mechanism in the Philippines, while the GIV gave a briefing on its recent development activities.
The knowledge-sharing aims not only to deepen their knowledge in each other’s work in the areas of transparency and integrity in public service but also to enhance bilateral ties between the Philippines and Vietnam.
The GIV delegation also includes Director General of International Cooperation Department and Deputy Head of Delegation Ha Trong Cong, Deputy Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau Phi Ngoc Tuyen, Chief Inspector of Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate Lam Dinh Chien, Director General of Department II Dang Khanh Toan, Deputy Director General Dang Ngoc Diep, and Head of Bilateral Cooperation (Division of International Cooperation Department) Do Trung Kien.
