Virtual Assistants from the Philippines Required
« on: May 13, 2008, 12:53:26 AM »
Excepts from WFA website:
Author: Katherine

I am based in San Diego, CA and always in need of good, reliable, honest, skilled virtual assistants - whether for myself or for my clients. If you know anyone interested to join my team of VAs -- or would like to set up your own VA center in the Philippines we can work together. Let's talk (-:

Requirements - Excellent English speaking/communication skills, Office applications, Internet savvy. Must own PC (minimum P4 with 2GB RAM, 20GB HDD for the business, cable Internet connection, MS Office). Those with programming skills - all the more welcome!

Folks, I checked the web site of this lady and she is offering a very attractive package  :o  :o  :o . The job is a sort of outsourcing office and design/graphic skills. Virtually, you work abroad, but physically, you are enjoying the beautiful Philippine sunshine.

To apply please visit this link: http://worldwidefilipinoalliance.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=1872192%3ATopic%3A23709

Psst. Ayaw ug itug-an sa uban basin ma unhan ka - Atty.

Further, I checked their contact details as the following:

Katherine Rivette

Owner, Head VA

10606-8 Camino Ruiz #210
San Diego, CA 92126 USA

Phone:  858-866-9740
FAx:   858-761-0301

To send email, just follow this link: http://katriv.com/index.php?option=com_contact&Itemid=3

The following are the services offered to thier clients:
Virtual Assistance - Bookkeeping - Web Design - Graphic Design - In & Outbound Calls  - Email Marketing - Classified Ads Posting - Forums & BLOGS - Research - Data Entry & Mining - SEO - Tutorial - Template Creation (Word, Excel, Power Point) - Contact  Database Maintenance, Full Time VA - Half Time VA - Hourly VA - On Call VA

To give you a picture of the income, thier average charge to clients is $25 per hour. Let's say $10 goes to you and 15 goes to them. So, if you work full time 8 hours, you will earn $80 per day. In one month x 30, your income would be $2,400  :o. This is very much worth trying. So, kinsa to makatrabaho diha sa Pinas, kinahanglang mo donate sa Tubag Bohol Charity. Deal?

Hope this is real folks, pero ayaw ug isaba sa uban - Atty.

i doubt if any client would pay $25/hour for the said service? I know people working as telemarketers and CS Reps.. there only paid $10- $12/ hour..

Mari,

You can even further retail this amount. Since you are having an Internet Cafe, you can hire working students to part time for you. That is called setting up a VA center.

I got this info from a "VRS" (Leo style, hehehe), from WFA, a group built on integrity.

You are right Grace. I don't think a well respected organization like PICPA would allow somebody to ruin thier name.

After investigating and try posing as an applicant, please find below the reply I got. As you can see, the package is way below my expectation.

That means if she is charging $25 to her clients and paying to her assistants $500 per month at 40hours per week, she is only spending $3 out of her $25 and $23 per hour will go to her pocket. I calculated if she have 10 VAs, she will earn $55,200 per month and that is around P2.28 million pesos per month. Magtukod na lang ta ug parehas ani nga business adto sa US.

Nevertheless, this is good enough to utilize an idle time while waiting for better opportunities.

This is her reply:

Hi Ray,

Thank you for the comment/reply/interest you posted on WFA.  VA requirements are always in flux.  Right now, I need a person who is familiar with social book/networking using Digg, Reddit and other sites.  Are you familiar?  I also have several online ads for VA right now, one of them in CL.  Please read on below and if interested (and meet requirements) please feel free to apply. The text below is the exact ad I have ongoing right now.

Take care,
K

Please READ and follow ALL instructions. If you can't follow instructions, we will not consider your application.
We have received several applications and sadly many have NOT demonstrated the capacity to follow simple instructions.
Previous applicants need not apply.

My virtual assistance business has grown and I am accepting applicants. The job, initially will be part time and you will be required to work during PST (Pacific Time Zone) - about 14 hours delay from Philippine time. If things work out and we are a good fit, this will become a full time job.
You will use your own computer (minimum P4 with XP or Vista, MS Office) and must have DSL or broadband computer. You must have a noise free and private environment - no Internet cafe working. We will send robots and spiders to your computer to check your system and security. You must also have an unlimited USA calling plan - we will reimburse this after you have served us successfully for three months. We prefer that you use Magic Jack or Vonage with a headset.

The job will entail online research, in and outbound calling, Craigslist posting, blogging. Minimum skills required (If you do not have these minimum requirements or experience in CL posting, Blogging, in/outbound calls, Google Docs, please do NOT apply. You will be wasting your time and ours:

1. Fluent in English - written and spoken 2. Must know all of the following: MS Word, MS Excel 3. Google Docs
In addition, you must have ONE or MORE (a-b-c-d-e) of the following combination skills/know how: a) Constant Contact AND Aweber b) Sugar CRM OR Basecamp c) Article Submission, Forum, BLOGs d) Ghostwriting OR Copywriting e) Ring Central OR Vonage If you have more than one of the combination skills set, you naturally will have a better chance than other applicants.

Payments in US Dollar - regardless of exchange rate:

Full time = 40 hrs/week = $500/month proby (3 months), $600/month thereafter Half time = 20 hrs/week = $250/month proby (3 months), $300/month thereafter Part time = 10 hrs/week = $125/month proby (3 months); $150/month thereafter Annual performance evaluation that may give you up to 4% increase.

Those interested can apply, submit your resume AND fill up our online application at www.katriv.com (scroll down the page and click on "Do You Want To Join Our VA Team?" link). Give us 3 professional references and 1 personal reference with phone number and email.

Those considered for employment will receive an email notification to schedule an online interview. We will be calling on the references of those who pass the interview process.

NO PHONE CALLS please. Only those who can follow instructions to the letter will be considered. Obviously working remotely means we will not be on your back the whole time and if you can not follow simple instructions while applying, our theory is you will not be able to follow complex instructions later on.

Thank you and good luck.

Macky, good thing you already got the respond from K.  I agree with you; the rate they are offering is way below what is fair.  It's unthinkable that anybody can offer roughly 3 dollars/hour especially if the business is based here.

The hardware requirement is kind of high too like a minimum of pentium 4, clean computer - meaning we can not use websites that are susceptible to virus like chikka, etc.

But, as you said, it's good enough.

This is just good for students or kanang samtang nag bantay ug sari-sari store.

Maayo pa kita na lang ang magtukod ug VA provider, kay sure kwarta man diay ni nga business. Pero at least $5 is to $20 per hour kay grabe ra pud nang $3.
