The major trend in the US economy today is to adopt the so-called OUTSOURCING process. This is deliberately considered to ease the ongoing pressure to maintain the profitability of the businesses.
This method offers a wide range of opportunities to both parties. For the businesses seeking to outsource their products, it gives them the benefit of trimming manufacturing costs while improving competitive scale and gaining wide access to competent and right talents in different regions of the globe. For countries where outsourcing services are being sought, this is the greatest opportunity to feed jobs to a number of unemployed professionals.
But when it comes to EDUCATION, outsourcing is explained in a different way. American Schools cannot send their students overseas to satisfy teachers shortages. The way they conduct the process is recruiting and importing the best, competent, skilled and proficient in English foreign teachers to teach in American classrooms.
According to an article released by AP Associated Press dated September 13, 2008, due to this shortage, district officials went around the world last year, with expenses paid by a teacher recruiting firm.
It was also stated in the article that as far back as five years ago, the National Education Association estimated that up to 10,000 foreigners already were teaching U.S. students in primary and secondary schools, mainly to fill vacancies in math, science, foreign languages and special education.
