Proving efficiency, the four-year-old one-stop shop program of the local government of Jagna implemented for the processing of tax documents resulted to improved tax collection trend and has saved the taxpayers' time by an average of seven and a half hours.

This time, the one-stop shop service runs from January 7 to 20 where taxpayers can process documents needed in filing their respective business taxes and getting or renewing permits or licenses in one venue, the Jagna gymnasium.

Mayor Exuperio Lloren started implementing the program in 2004 agenda under the Anti-Red Tape Campaign of the national government through the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Indeed, Jagna had proven it as a two-way beneficial- -to the government and to the people. While it improved the municipal government's services to the constituents, and to local investors in the yearly renewal and application of business permits, it also saved the time of these clients- -the constituents and the investors, since it cut the usual processing time of eight hours to just 30 minutes.

The revenue agents also observed and increase in tax generated by their office to a considerable degree.

Acting Municipal Treasurer Raymond Cuadra dispatched three personnel from his office to help facilitate in the collection of the fees while the Mayor's Office led by Executive Assistant Ma. Louella Tan-Jumawan in coordination with the Human Resource Management Officer (HRMO) Efrena Buenafe assigned three office workers from the said department.

Other important departments that gave manpower assistance to the almost month-long undertaking are the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Municipal Health Office (MHO), Sangguniang Bayan Office (SB), Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDC), Engineering Office, Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Office and the Office of the Municipal Market Supervisor.
