The 10-day assessment mission is conducted between the Bohol Cluster Municipalities and the town of Blackfalds, Alberta, Canada under the Municipal Partnership Program (MPP) of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).
The assessment mission, running from February 2-11, is the first activity between the Canadian town of Blackfalds and the clustered Bohol municipalities of Garcia-Hernandez, Jagna, Duero and Guindulman.
The mission has been intended to introduce the Canadian delegation to the clustered Bohol municipalities and to know one another by exchanging knowledge on inter-municipal cooperation.
It also provides an opportunity for the FCM team to know how Philippine local governments are organized and administered, the type and level of services provided for, the division of responsibility among the national departments for municipal funding.
In his welcome message, Mayor Exuperio Lloren personally thanked the Canadian officials on behalf of fellow local chief executives comprising the cluster, for choosing them as their overseas partner-municipalities.
