Para sa nako, daghan ko'g respeto sa mga Engineer kai mura man ahong mga pariente Engineer or Medicine. My uncles (my father's brothers) are all Engineers, and one an M.D. My uncles in my maternal side are also all engineers. One in UAE and another in Riyadh, SAUDI. Daghang ko mga cousins that are also Engineers or Engineering students (mostly: Civil, Mechanical, Chemical).
Kuyawan ko sa mga mathematics and autocad/ied skills sa mga engineers. Math is like nothing for them. My father, who is a graduate of CIT in Civil Engineering, and was a company supervisor in Riyadh, SAUDI, used to tell me how hectic it was not only designing bridges and roads, then running a company of some 200 filipino laborers, then at the same time, communicating with the Arab employers etc.
Its a mixture of Engineering, math, community directing, and managerial skills, all into one.
I used to say to my dad, "Dad, mo pursue na lang ko ug Engineering", he used to retort, "Ayaw na lang, 'doy. Medicine na lang" LOL.
Pero, I do really admire and respect Engineers.
Engineers--they are the builders of society, maintainers of society's superstructures, and the creators and laborers of new mechanical processes for medicine and science in general.
All these new heart SA nodes, and orthotic prosthetics are all invented and designed by Biomedical Engineers.
Engineering Power!
GO GO ENGINEERS!
