Secretary Lito Atienza of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Friday expressed the DENR's full support to the wood processing industry as he reminded businesses to police their ranks to ensure that there will be no abuses and violations of existing laws.
As guest of honor and speaker in the annual assembly of the Philippine Wood Producers Association in Makati City, Secretary Atienza pointed out that wood is fundamental for a comfortable life. That is why the industry is "critical" yet one of the most "criticized," he said.
