Can you share your thoughts about this bible phrase "this age and the age to come".
When I dole out food to the poor they call me a Saint, but when I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.

He who is truth says that whoever utters blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will be pardoned neither in this age nor in the age to come. From this sentence we understand that certain offenses can be forgiven in this age, but certain others in the age to come. [St. Gregory the Great, Dial. 4, 39: PL 77, 396; cf. Mt 12:32-36.]"

It is not  "this age" refers to the time of Jesus Christ before His death in the cross
and "the age to come" was the time when he resurrected until now?

When Christ refers to this age, He refers to the age that we are now living in. The age to come (the world to come), he is making reference to the age when we will ascend in spiritual form. This is in reference to life eternal.

Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.

- Matthew 19:28-29

In this verse from Matthew Chapter 19, Christ's reference to the "new world", is the same as "the age to come". It makes reference to the life in Heaven, the life in the spiritual realm, not of the physical realm that we live in now.

Vhinz,

Just to reiterate lang,

When Christ refers to "this age", it refers to the life we are living here and now. In the world.

His reference of "the age to come" is life in Heaven.

I hope that answers your query.
