Supreme Court To Resolve Albur, Bohol Landfill Project Issue

Albur, Bohol Mayor Jose Ugdoracion dispels reports that the Supreme Court has not acted on his petition for certiorari to overturn a decision of the Comelec en banc which nullified his candidacy during the May 14 elections.

Ugdoracion clarified that the high tribunal in fact required him to submit supplementary documents to support his petition.

The Supreme Court en banc, in a resolution dated November 13, 2007, required Ephraim Tungol and the Comelec to submit their comments on Ugdoracion's petition.

Ugdoracion was required to present "competent evidence of identity before the notary public considering that the petition lacks the material dates showing when the assailed judgment of (the Comelec)."
