How do you view physicians and caregivers?

I think physicians and the rest of the people who chose to be in the medical field are doing something noble.  Yes, they got paid paid well but their job entails saving the lives of people.  I am not saying I want to be a doctor or a nurse or a med tech, but compared to, say an accountant and a doctor.  The accountants job, is obviously to do accounting stuff  while a doctor can be in calamity areas saving lives.  I am a non-practicing accountant and I did not regret being one because even if I had a choice then to be a doctor, I still wouldn't do it.  The medical profession was so daunting on me - having to inject needles on kids' soft skin or to cut somebody else's stomach, or to stitch a wound using stapler.  Now, I got to stop.  It's making me dizzy already. lol


As a caregiver, I have done that I don't have problem with that for as long as it's just a one on one not like in the care home that I visited the other day that only 4 caregivers in more than 50 oldies.

Dodong i respected doctors pero they would be the last person im going to see  when i dont feel good...Dong naa kuy Doctor sa LA and he is very, very good, Filipino Doc,  very soft spoken and very few words, pero he was sooo good sa mga sakit gyud...he practiced private and have Filipino and Hespanic patients admitted mostly in Kaiser Permanently in LA...

about caregivers, i was a caregiver and it was not an easy job...im very affecionate to the people i took care... some of them treat me like a  member of their family...in fact one of them i keep in touch with all the time, we talk on the phone and she usually report to me what's going on in her neighborhood...She told me recently that Goldie Hawn moved out from her area to Canada for good...*tsismis*, she knows from my voice if im happy or not...that's how good our relationship are...

I guess I am biased against doctors who are not Pinoy, since I was spoiled in CA nga akong mga doctors ug dentist, mga pinoy...

Right now, I honestly don't like my primary care physician and my dentist...I am considering switching PCPs, a friend told me there's a really good pinay doctor here...sa dentist pud, wala man pinoy dentist dire oist, so I'm probably just gonna go see the Korean dentist nga duol ra iyang ofc dire among haws...

As I've said before, it's difficult to find the right doctor...

PS. I'm considering switching gynecologists too...

It's not that the doctors here aren't any good, pero honestly, lahi ra jud mag care ang mga Pinoy physicians and caregivers...

just today, a lady (a customer) told me that she was hospitalized recently and she was in awe of Pinay nurses, very good at their jobs kuno, and very caring...

I felt proud of our Pinay nurses who work so hard everyday.

Nice jud bitaw mag care mga Pinoys oi!  When I was in the hospital for one week mid this year, there were lots of Pinoy nurses.  They were so nice jud as in mura'g gi take care lang ko ug mga kagupa pod but still dili matabang kahadlok nko coz kanunay sila mag draw ug blood sa ako and dili na sila kakuha ug dugo.  The puti doctors were so nice too - young and handsome but goodness, what do you need wapo'ng doctors for na all they did was to poke me here and there!

How can I not recognize wapo docs even if we are close to dying na! hahahahaha  I still remember one doctor's name.  He was so cute like one of the ER guys (even if I don't watch ER!).  Tapos, when that doctor when has a short break, he would go to my corner in the ER and chitchat.  I remember I asked that doc if he watches ER or Scrubs. hahahah silly question!

Much salute to Ate Belle because she is a Registered Nurse, like my parents, and are the work horse of the medical care industry. It is the nurse who nurtures the patient, absolute and total care--from the state of death--to the state of life. I know Ate Belle and other nurses here in TB have saved countless of lives, many young, many old etc, and I give so much respect to all of you guys. Either you are an Intensive Care, Critical Care, Medical Surgical, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Pediatric nurse etc..patients recover because of you guys. 10% of the American health industry rests in the hands of the Filipino nurse/physician.

Thank you so much. For all your contribution and for all the things you do. More power to you all!

importante kaayo ang prinsipyo sa 'savings'. ug koripot ang doctor, kana may guapo, kai daghan sapi na sija.

kahibalo ko usang doctor , Trauma Surgeon. this man makes close to $400,000 a year. Every month he puts half of his paycheck in his savings. the rest he uses to pay off loans, lifestyle spending, and any extra is put in savings as well. Every month he is able to save about ~$18,000.

In one year, he is able to save about $200,000. in 5 years, he can save a million. easy.

its all about savings.
