My apologies to the writer, but can't help to comment negatively on the above news report. It is vague/misleading and composition is very poor.

I don't say I am a writer, but such poorly written report in a public paper is unacceptable and could affect the Boholano image.

Mike’s grievance and claims that the quality of our English education is diminishing has been proven once more.

Was it ever good, Mr Macky? Our english education, I mean.

I went to a public elementary school, and as I recall, english was never the priority. Filipino (or Tagalog, in this context) was given more emphasis.

Maybe the thing to do in this case is better screening for hopeful writers.
