ExxonMobil and American Idol

In late April 2007, American Idol held its first "Idol Gives Back" a special fundraiser lasting two days and focused on fighting extreme poverty in the U.S. and Africa. Not only did the event generate over $75 million in proceeds, it also raised a great deal of awareness among the American public of the challenges impoverished communities face.
