A mother was arrested after giving her 4-month-old girl whiskey in her bottle, police said.

Indianapolis Metro police said Mary Skaggs, 28, faces two counts of neglect of a dependent and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police were called to Methodist Hospital Saturday by a social worker there. Officials said a test revealed that the child had a blood-alcohol level of 0.048.

Investigators said Skaggs told the hospital that she had put whiskey on the girl's gums because she was teething.

Is it true? Cough syrups contain a little alcohol, or something in it that makes one sleepy?

I once heard that one technique to make hyper active kids sleep when they still won't go to bed past their bed time is to make them drink cough syrup.

I am not sure if cough syrups contain a little alcohol but I once read an article about that GEC na gipa inom ang hyper kids to calm down and then makatulog.  tsk tsk tsk. maka high bya pod na ang cough syrup.

I doubt if Tubag Bohol addicts ever take cough syrup to treat their pesky cough.
Makatulog pa lang unya, dili na makadok-dok ;D
